Have your say

Making your views known

If there is an issue you would like to bring to our attention, please contact us to let us know. We can’t represent individuals, or deal with individual issues, but if a number of parents report the same issue, we can use this information to raise the problem at the appropriate meetings or when contributing to the decision making process.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch – this is your forum – we can only influence decisions if we have your support.

Participation can happen at many different levels and as a voluntary organisation, we all choose how we want to be involved – anything from reading this website, going to a coffee morning, a one off consultation event, to attending a regular set of multi-agency meetings on behalf of all the parent carers in Cheshire East – all of these are participation!

It certainly doesn’t have to include public speaking – although if this is something you are good at, we would love to hear from you!

We provide training for anyone interested in participating and offer support to new parent reps.

Cheshire East Council are currently running a project looking at all aspects of the Life Course for those with Learning Disabilities or Autism Spectrum Conditions, and the Forum is involved at a strategic level with some of the workstreams. We have parent reps attending the following meetings:

  • The Local Offer
  • Preparing for Adulthood
  • Commissioning

We also attend meetings of the NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups, Cheshire East Carer’s Reference Group and anything else we are invited to where our experience as parent carers is valued.

If you are interested in becoming a parent rep, please contact us and one of our officers will be in touch to answer any questions you might have.

The Steering Group meets once a month in Middlewich, so if you are interested in helping with the running of the Forum, please let us know so that we can invite you to our next meeting to find out more.

It’s not all hard work – if it was no-one would do it!

Surveys

We will use this page to publish surveys on behalf of our associates and ourselves and to inform you of the results.

More coming soon…
